BASIC FACTS

Philosophy Department gives the entrance exams ("bilim sınavları") only in May, not in Summer or Winter.  The application month is typically April.  (Please note that although the general pages of Bogazici University state that the applications can be made in January, April and July, our department accepts applications only in April.)  The potential applicants are advised to take the requisite exams (ALES and language tests) well before April because it is not possible to submit the test results after "bilim sınavları".  The successful applicants begin the program in September.

This year our Department has begun to practice "şartlı ön kabul" (conditional early admission) to the MA and PhD programs.  This means the following: The applicants who are accepted to the program in May can start their grad program in September on the condition that they get their previous degree by September.  Please read the Şartlı Ön Kabul info provided by Bogaziçi University for the 2009 applications.
