INFORMATION FOR BOGAZIÇI UNIVERSITY PHILOSOPHY MAJORS
The International
Office at the University of Copenhagen would like to draw your attention to the
following information that is relevant for students applying for an exchange
with the University of Copenhagen. We hope that the information and the contact
details will help you and your students in the application process. Application
The University of Copenhagen is receiving an increasing number of applications
from international students. For the International Office to process the
applications in due time, it is very important that our deadlines are met. The
deadlines are:
* 1 April for autumn semesters (September-January)
* 1 October for spring semesters (February-June)
An application should include the three application forms: Admission as an
Exchange Student, Housing (optional) and Danish Language Course (optional).
Please note that if application forms for housing and Danish Language Courses
are not included with the application for admission and sent at a later date, we
cannot guarantee that they will be considered. Please note that incomplete
applications cannot be processed.
We are aware that Socrates/Erasmus students are nominated sometimes several
weeks after our deadline, and we try to be flexible. However, we should like to
stress that nominations not fully confirmed by the Danish departmental
coordinator and applications received after 1 June are very likely to be
rejected. Likewise, housing applications received after this date are often
impossible to process, and the student in question will only be eligible for
housing if there are available rooms at the beginning of the semester. Visa
Overseas students who need a visa to enter Denmark must expect at
visa-processing period of more than 10 weeks.
Housing
The International
Office assists exchange students who have applied for housing in due time with
finding accommodation in Copenhagen during their studies. If students are
interested in receiving a housing offer, it is absolutely necessary that they
enclose a housing form with their application. Please note that incomplete
housing applications cannot be processed. Furthermore, we should like to stress
that housing in Copenhagen is scarce and only a punctual forwarding of housing
application forms will ensure that the students in question will stand a
reasonable chance of being offered suitable accommodation through the
International Office.
Danish Language Course During August and January the University of Copenhagen
offers a 3-week pre-semester Danish language course to exchange students. The
language course is optional and free of charge. If students wish to participate,
they must fill in a Danish Language Course application form and enclose it with
their application.
More Information The International Office's web site
www.ku.dk/sa/inter
has detailed information about the University of Copenhagen. Courses offered in
English, earning credits and much more. We hope that your students will make use
of the web site if they consider going on exchange or when actually planning
their studies in Copenhagen.
